General Panel Mount Cable


1. The applicable temperature range of an ordinary PVC Panel Mount Cable is generally -15℃~60℃. When the ambient temperature of the place of use exceeds this range, a special PVC Panel Mount Cable should be used, because ordinary PVC Panel Mount Cable emits toxic fumes when it burns, so this Panel Mount Cable is not suitable for underground passenger facilities, underground commercial areas, high-rise buildings, critical public facilities, and other crowded places.


2. Cross-linked polyvinyl chloride (XLPE) Panel Mount Cable does not have flame retardant performance but does not produce a lot of toxic fumes when burning and is suitable for industrial and civil buildings with clean requirements.


3. Rubber Panel Mount Cable has better bending performance. It can be laid in a cold climate, suitable for places with sizeable horizontal height differences and vertical laying. Rubber Panel Mount Cable is suitable for power supply lines of mobile electrical equipment.

Flame-retardant Panel Mount Cable


Flame retardant cable is generally referred to in the specified test conditions that are burned and can spread the flame within a limited range. After removing the fire source, the residual flame and residual burn can be extinguished in a limited period on their flame retardant cable. Its performance is mainly assessed by the oxygen index and smoke generation two indicators.


Since oxygen in the air accounts for 21%, the oxygen index of more than 21 materials in the air will be self-extinguishing. The higher the material's oxygen index, the better flame retardancy is. Flame-retardant cables can generally be divided into 3 categories: flame-retardant cables, low smoke and low halogen flame-retardant cables, and halogen-free flame-retardant cables according to the smoke characteristics during combustion.


If the cable is laid in a covered channel box or cable trench with a cover, the flame retardant requirement can be reduced to one level if measures to prevent prolonged combustion such as blocking, water blocking, and isolation have been taken.


Flame-resistant Panel Mount Cable


1. Fire-resistant Panel Mount Cable is a cable that can maintain typical operating characteristics for a certain period when burned in a flame under specified test conditions.


2. Fire-resistant cable can be divided into organic and inorganic types according to the insulation material. Organic mainly uses mica tape with a high-temperature resistance of 800℃ to cover two layers with an overlap rate of 50% as the fire-resistant layer.


The external polyvinyl chloride or cross-linked polyethylene is used as insulation, and if flame retardant is required at the same time, as long as the insulation material is selected as flame retardant material. An organic fire-resistant cable with an oxygen barrier can generally withstand 950 ℃ high temperature. No type is mineral insulated cable. It uses magnesium oxide as insulation material, copper tube as a sheath cable, internationally known as MI cable.


3. Fire-resistant Panel Mount Cable is mainly used in the event of a fire, still needed to maintain the regular operation of the line.


4. The fire resistance level should be determined according to the flame temperature that may be reached in case of fire.


Selection of cross-sectional area


1. When passing load current, the core temperature does not exceed the long-term operating temperature allowed by the insulation of the Panel Mount Cable.


2. Through the short-circuit current does not exceed the allowable short-circuit strength, high-voltage cable to check the thermal stability, busbar to check the dynamic and thermal stability.


3. Voltage loss within the allowable range.


4. Meet the requirements of mechanical strength.


5. Low-voltage Panel Mount Cable should meet the requirements of load protection, and the TNT system should also ensure that the protection apparatus can break the circuit in case of a ground fault.
